St Peter’s Basilica is subject to last-minute closures for religious ceremonies. When this occurs, we're happy to offer customers an extended tour of the Vatican Museums. While we endeavour to tell tour groups ahead of time if there are any planned disruptions to the Basilica's opening hours, this is not always possible and in these cases we are unable to provide refunds or discounts.
On Wednesdays, due to the Papal Audiences, access to St Peter's Basilica is not possible until 1pm
St Peter's Basilica is not accessible on the evening tours
Avoid bringing large purses, bags, or backpacks on your tour
Great tour and very knowledgeable guide.
Our guided tour exceeded our expectations. Our guide Ursse was so knowledgeable and friendly and shared his love of the Vatican and it's artifacts with us. Ursse led us seamlessly through the Vatican Museum to the Sistine Chapel and finally to St Peter's Basillica. The time just flies by. I would recommend doing this full tour to get a good overview and then (if you have time) return and buy just the admission to the Vatican Museum and wander about at your leisure. There is so much to see that no guided tour will be long enough, but a great guide will get you to the highlights and then you can determine your interest in delving deeper.
