Highlights

The 3 day tour includes the Danakil Depression, Dallol, the salt mine, and Earta'le Volcano. Usually to visit this place it will take up to 4 days, but our tour will start in a different direction, and we make it one day less than the usual tour, which is the same tour as the 4 day tour.


On in the 3rd day you will return back to Mekele late afternoon, there is also an option to fly back to Addis in the evening.

Semera - Hamedella

  • Dallol

    8 hoursAdmission Ticket Free
    Pickup from Hotel and Airport Drive to Hamedella through Berhale where the camel caravan stop before passing to the northern Highlands enroute you will see long camel caravan going to the salt mine other camel coming out of the Danakil with their salt loaded on the camel. Drive to Dallol visit lake Asale, where you can see the dramatic landscape formed by a volcanic eruptions and the sulphur and different minerals pouring out of the Earth. Overnight Hamedella

    Hamedella - Earta'le Drive to Earta'le arrive in Askoma 2 km trek from Askoma and spend the night in watching the dramatic volcano. Return back to the campsite overnight camping at the campsite

    Earta'le - Dalol - Mekele Wake up early morning enjoy the sun rise coming up over the volcano mountain, continue the drive back to Semera via Lake Afdera one of the largest salt mining sites in Ethiopia optional bath at the salty lake and hot spring Late afternoon drive back to Semera and arrive between 4 - 5Pm.
