- Attractions-

  • Kiyomizu-dera Temple is a temple located in Kiyomizu, Higashiyama District, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. It was built by the people of Enzhen around 778 (the 9th year of Hogame). The mountain name of Kiyomizu-dera Temple is Mount Otowa, which is mainly dedicated to Thousand-Armed Kannon. It originally belonged to the Hosho Sect but is now independent and has become the headquarters of the Northern Hosho Sect. It has often appeared in Japanese literary works since the Heian period. In 1994, Kiyomizu-dera Temple was listed as a World Cultural Heritage as part of the cultural property of the ancient capital of Kyoto.

  • Sanjusangen-do is located in Higashiyama District, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. It is an overseas Buddhist temple of the Tendai Buddhism Court. The official name is Rengeouin Main Hall. There are 1,001 Thousand-Armed Avalokitesvara statues enshrined in the hall. Because there are a total of thirty-three compartments using pillars, it is called "Sanjusangen Hall". It was originally a Buddhist temple built by Taira Kiyomori in the Hojuji Temple, the emperor's palace, under the orders of Emperor Go-Shirakawa. It is now a Japanese national treasure and important cultural property.

  • Strolling through Japan's Heian period in Arashiyama, Arashiyama was a gathering place for the mansions of dynasty nobles. Many relics from that time are still preserved. For example, Arashiyama's iconic Togetsuki Bridge is said to have been built in the early Heian period. The large and small shrines and temples in the mountains are antique. The nogiya bamboos on both sides of the bamboo forest block the sky and the sun. The monument of Zhou Enlai's memorial poem "Lanshan in the Rain" is quietly hidden in a corner of the mountain. When the cherry blossoms are in full bloom and the maple leaves turn red, the scenery in Arashiyama is especially beautiful.

  • After Toji was built as a government-run temple to protect Heian Kyo, Emperor Saga gave it to Kukai (Kōbo Daishi), and it prospered as the fundamental dojo of the Shingon esoteric sect. It was designated as a national historic site in 1934 and registered as a World Heritage Site in 1994 as part of the "Cultural Properties of Ancient Kyoto". In spring, you can enjoy the beautiful combination of the double red weeping cherry blossoms called "Fujizakura" with the five-story pagoda and blue maple leaves.
