From there, we will embark on a short 25-minute drive to reach the Menir of Almendres, an impressive solitary standing stone. Next, we will make a short drive to the Cromlech of Almendres, often referred to as the Stonehenge of Portugal. At the site, we will continue our discussion of the Neolithic and provide an overview of the theories associated with the monument. You will learn about the history of this spectacular site from archaeologists specializing in the prehistory of this region. 30 minsAdmission Ticket FreeWe will regroup and embark on a 20-minute drive to our next destination, the Great Dolmen of Zambujeiro (Anta Grande do Zambujeiro), a remarkable prehistoric funerary site. Notably larger than other existing dolmens in Portugal, this site holds great intrigue. We will delve into the archaeological discoveries made here. Our return journey to Évora will commence thereafter, with drop-offs scheduled between 12:30-13:00.
