Itinerary
Chun Shui Tang Dadun Branch
Bubble tea shops can be found on nearly every corner of Taiwan's streets. Chun Shui Tang (春水堂) (meaning spring water hall) is one of two cafes that say has invented the pearl milk tea.
Chun Shui Tang 春水堂 is founded by a Mr Liu Han-Chieh, who had the idea of serving Chinese tea cold in the early 1980s, after a visit to Japan where he saw coffee served cold.
His manager said to have included Taiwanese tapioca pearls into the drinks ... and this is how the bubble tea was invented.
For those of you who aren't familiar with the terms“bubble tea”or "pearl tea" (zhen zhu nai cha), they are derived from the black pearls added in the tea. These black pearls are made from tapioca starch and look exactly like "bubbles".
Theirs locations have a really nice mix of traditional and modern art decor. The soft lighting creats a great atmosphere for chatting with friends over some tea and side dishes.
