Ride at your own pace by hiring a City Bike for the day to explore Wellington city and the surrounding bays. From the centrally located Waterfront to the quiet bays and panoramic lookouts, you'll love your ride around Wellington! We have both standard road bike and step-thru cruiser frames for you to choose from.
We can recommend a great day route that takes you from our store on the Wellington Waterfront and around the bays to the Miramar Peninsula, around past Scorching Bay and Seatoun out to the South Coast and back through Island Bay. We have a couple of recommended cafe stops for your along the way.
You'll have time to visit the main attractions in Wellington while riding- Weta Workshop, Te Papa Museum, The Cable Car, Cuba St and Zealandia- your bike can be your mode of transport as well as your activity!
We're centrally located only a 10min walk from the Wellington iSite (visitor's information centre) and 10 min from Te Papa Museum (NZ's national Museum).
You will be provided with riding instructions, a helmet, a lock and a cycle map of the city, including our top picks of places to stop on your ride. We have a large car-free space to get your riding and provide a full briefing on the bikes.

We provide full instructions and a safety briefing before you ride,
helmet, lock, cycle map and tips on where to ride. We've got high-vis too,
just ask at the counter.
Please remember Credit Card as bond / security, water bottle and sun
screen
We recommend bringing an extra warm layer as the bays can be windy and
wearing bright clothes will keep you seen by others on the road. It's good to
avoid loose fitting clothing and extra-long jackets as these don't mix well
with the moving parts of bikes!
Please bring a sense of adventure!

If you need to contact us on the day, we can be reached on 04 473 1080. No
need to call if you're running late for your bike hire, we'll keep your bikes
reserved for at least a two hours past your reservation time. Please note that
we're most busy with customers between 9-11 but we'll do our best to get back
to you if you leave a message.
