Nivice Canyons and Peshture Waterfall

The canyons of Nivica are a natural wonder, and among the most beautiful canyons we have. They start at the head of the village of Nivicë and have a total length of about 7 km. The canyons expand towards the village of Lekdush, below it. The narrowest part of the canyons lies below the village of Nivicë with a length of about 3 km. The width of the canyons varies from 2-3 m at their beginnings and they come widening along the course with a width of about 1000 meters. The flow of water has created water tubs, waterfalls, and interesting caves such as the "sky cave", the canyons are located near the village of Nivicë in Tepelena. They can be visited along the highway Tepelen, Progonat, Nivicë, or from the coast, entering from the Vlora River, Himara, or Borshi. The canyons of Nivica are a natural wealth of mountain tourism in the south of Albania. The magic waterfall is located in Progonat and summer is the best time to see it.
