Highlights
Enter St Mark's Basilica and, accompanied by an experienced local guide, raise your eyes to the ceiling and admire the glittering expanse of golden mosaics covering the vaults and domes.
During the visit you will discover masterpieces from the past and their interesting iconographic representations, such as the famous golden domes, the iconostasis, the ciborium and the main altar housing the tomb of St Mark the Evangelist.
A steep staircase will lead you to the first floor, which houses St Mark's Museum, where you can look down on the rich floor of the Basilica and see the ancient relics belonging to the church up close.
You will then reach the terrace where, in the shadow of copies of the famous four bronze horses, you can enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the heart of Venice, St Mark's Square.
The last and equally spectacular part of our guided tour will be a visit to the original horses of St Mark's Basilica that once stood on the upper part of the church façade.
