Phnom Kulen National Park

Pick up at 8:00am in your hotel lobby for a 2-hour journey through rural Cambodia to our first destination. Considered by Khmers as the most sacred mountain in Cambodia, it is a place of pilgrimage. Main stops at Phnom Kulen include admiring the panoramic vistas from the massive reclining Buddha, the biggest of its kind in Cambodia, the “River of a Thousand Lingas” carving of sacred lingas on the river banks and the waterfalls of Phnom Kulen. The Roluos group, dating from the late ninth century, is the earliest site of the 600 years Angkor Period that is open to visitors. The three temples belonging to this important group have similar characteristics of architecture, decoration, materials and construction methods, which combine to reveal the beginning of the Classic Period of Khmer art. Preah Khan
4 hoursAdmission Ticket Not IncludedThis morning, after your breakfast we do an excursion to Visit Preah Khan temple, built by the King Jayavarman VII, Preah Khan is, like Ta Prohm, a place of towered enclosures and shoulder-hugging corridors. Unlike Ta Prohm, however, Preah Khan is in a reasonable state of preservation and ongoing restoration efforts should maintain and even improve this situation. Then visit Neak Pean, a fountain built in the middle of a pool and representing the paradisiacal Himalayan mountain-lake. Follow by Ta Som, Mebon temple and last stop of Pre Rup Temple from the late 10th century building, built by Khmer king RAJENDRAVARMAN II is revered because the boldness of the architectural design is superb. 2 hoursAdmission Ticket Not IncludedIn the afternoon, visit the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk and see the ancient capital of Angkor Thom built in the late 12th century before we head onwards to Bayon temple which is unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara. Baphuon is like an artificial mountain that recently re-opened after years of restoration. Following, you may visit the Royal Enclosure, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King.
