Private Tour with a specially curated Peranakan Lunch as follows:
Homemade Ngoh Hiang An all-time favourite, this meat roll is deep fried to a crisp with crunchy vegetables in the bite for a lovely contrast in texture.
Otak Otak A classic Nyonya dish—brightly flavored with various aromatic herbs, exotic spices, and infused with the sweet fragrance of rich coconut milk.
Nyonya Ayam Curry This is a dish traditionally served to celebrate a new born baby’s full moon for Peranakan Chinese. This curry recipe uses fresh herbs that are ground into a paste for a fresh curry sauce. Spices are then added. I found this makes a delicious curry without having to use premixed curry powder.
Babi Pongteh Pork Belly braised over a long period with fermented soy bean sauce. This dish of rich & sweet tender meat is said to be the decision point of marriage for young nyonyas.
Nyonya Chap Chye Brasied mixed vegetables filled with ingredients of different textures, this nyonya comfort dish is a must during Chinese New Year or special occasions.
Sambal Tofu A family secret recipe that has a unique umami flavor.
Chendol An old school sweet shaved-ice dessert comprising pandan jelly, coconut milk, and gula melaka (palm sugar syrup). Cuci mulut!
Nyonya Kueh Kueh

Alvin was really friendly and he described in great detail his experience in preserving and collecting artifacts of the local Peranakan community. It’s different from the more curated and “sanitised” museum in Melaka. Would recommend if interested to know more about it.

Alvin Yap is a great and engaging host. We learned so much from him about Peranakan culture. I love his collection and stories behind each piece. Highly recommended! Will surely be back with other family members and friends.

Fantastic experience. Well worth a visit. A unique and large collection of beautiful Perakanan vintage and antique items. Alvin is inspiring, and generous with his time. Highly recommended

Alvin’s Peranakan collection is spectacular (the localised figurines of Virgin Mary and Infant Jesus were of interest to me especially). The ambience of the tour and the kuehs at the end made the whole experience even nicer. Definitely recommend!
