Egyptians have loved and appreciated the art of craftsmanship from the time of the pharaohs, creating beautiful and more vital objects for the living as well as the dead.
These abilities were passed down from master to master through the years. Crafting evolved throughout Egypt's history, through Graeco-Roman, Coptic, and Islamic Egypt. Ancient talents were retained, and new ones were added to them, resulting in the diverse range of crafts now available throughout Egypt.
Many Egyptian families relied heavily on these crafts for a living.
Because these ever-valuable handcrafts are on the verge of extinction, this project strives to preserve them as a cultural asset as well as a primary source of income for some families.
