We had a terrible experience booking the Deluxe Desert Safari Tour with Premium Dinner and Seat in Camp in Dubai through Pelago. We had reserved the 3:30 pick-up, but the tour operator, Royal Desert Tours LLC, sent an email stating the pick-up time was between 2 and 2:30 pm. I responded with WhatsApp messages, but they didn’t reply. The next day, I sent several more emails, and each time, they sent a new email as a reply. Their communication was terrible. We had booked a premium safari, but we were seated in the last row of car seats, which was uncomfortable. The family who had booked the standard package was seated in the front. When we arrived at the Desert Safari, we had to pay extra for a camel ride because the short ride included in the package had a long queue. The driver forgot we had a premium package, so we couldn’t do the sandboarding or try the Arabic dresses for pictures. For dinner, we were told to sit in the standard seating area and wait for the food to be served. We disagreed and requested to be seated in the premium seating area. They found a small two-seater sofa for us, but we were three people (two adults and one child). The waiters didn’t serve us despite our repeated requests for help. They were busy attending to other customers. Our guide/driver was busy with multiple pick-ups and drops, so we were one of the last people to be picked up. We had to wait 20 to 30 minutes after the last show ended. He should have been focusing on the group of seven he was responsible for. Overall, this was a terrible experience and a waste of money and time. We enjoyed all our other activities booked through Pelago in Dubai.
