Come to prune: Early in the morning, a private vehicle from Sak will pick us up at the lodge to take us to the selected winery. Here our experienced guides will give us scissors, apron and hat to do the pruning. Then we will have an introductory talk with the agronomist where he will show us the more technical aspects of the work. We will learn the different types of cuts and what each of them looks for in the plant. We will learn why this task is carried out between the months of July and August, and the importance of doing it when the plant is dormant.
Come to Harvest: A private vehicle from Sak will pick us up from our lodging to take us to the selected winery. Here our experienced guides will give us the necessary equipment to harvest the grapes. Pruning shears, apron and box will be our companions during this traditional task.
While we live this experience, we will be able to taste some of the grapes from previous years, which will make us aware of the importance of this ritual. We will learn about manual harvesting, how to recognize the optimum ripeness of the grapes, the correct transfer to the sorting belt and the ideal conditions for their treatment.
