Highlights

Many of Krakow's most famous communist artefacts are alive and well. Hop in your Trabant (or our iconic Polish Fiat or crazy Soviet Lada) with your guide and travel back in time as you cruise through the city in a car manufactured by the Eastern Bloc. Head to the Nowa Huta district, famously known as the city's communist enclave. Learn the history behind the neighbourhood that was Stalin's 'gift' to Krakow. Wander the labyrinth of tenements, designed to be a model communist city. Hear the stories of life behind the Iron Curtain as you explore the epicentre of Poland's resistance movement. This revolution led to the eventual overthrow of the communist government.


The 'Communism Tour' was featured in BBC's 'Palin's New Europe' series and covered by many international TVs and newspapers.


To upgrade your tour, select the 3.5-hour Deluxe option. It includes a guided visit to the abandoned HQ and offices at the former Lenin Steelworks and a Pierogi lunch in an old-fashioned restaurant
