Departure towards the south-east of the country, towards Dedoplistskaro. We arrive at the central entrance of Vashlovani Park and the road leads to the Dali Mountain Reservoir. This monument of inorganic nature is located near the Dali mountain and is unlike anything one can see even in Georgia. The visitor to this muddy volcano has the feeling of having touched not a another country but another planet. Late afternoon Return to Dedophlistskaro.

We head to the central entrance to Vashlovani Park. The road leads to the Mijniskure valley and approaches the forests of the Black Mountain. The splendid view impresses us a lot on one left side there is a deciduous forest and on another the Alazani valley and the Mingechauri reservoir. After fully enjoying the beauty of the landscapes we go towards the capital city.

We leave Sighnaghi to discover the fascinating Tusheti, a historic mountainous region located in the northeast of Georgia. On the way we visit the monastic complex of Gremi which was the capital of the kingdom of Kakhetia (1466-1616). Stop at Abano Pass, the highest road pass in the Caucasus (2,926 MSL). We then head to Omalo, the largest village in the region. Dinner and night with locals in Omalo in simple and very friendly conditions.

We visit the beautiful villages of Tusheti. We arrive at Dartlo, which is a true pearl of Tush architecture. Tush towers and sloping side balconies do not leave anyone indifferent. The village of Dartlo is located in the protected area of Tusheti at 1830 meters above sea level. The architectural complex of Dartlo includes castle towers, akldama cathedrals and a church. Later we visit Farsma with the old Tush towers and the church, interesting local icons that were left in the towers centuries ago. Back to Omalo.

We will discover the gorge of Gometsari which separates two parts of Tushetia: from the gorge of Pirikiti Alazani by the crest of Makratela. Then we visit the village of Bochorna, located in the protected area of Tusheti at 2345 meters above sea level, where no one has lived permanently in recent years. According to the 2014 census, 76-year-old Tushetian doctor Irakli Khvedaguridze was registered as a permanent resident of Bochorna and became the highest village in Europe.

In the morning we leave the mountain and head towards the ancient capital of Mtskheta, located at the crossroads of the military road and the Silk Way. Here we visit the two UNESCO World Heritage monuments: the Jvari Monastery (6th century) with its splendid view of the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers and the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century), considered as one of the most sacred places in Georgia because it is here that the tunic that would have belonged to Christ is kept. Continue to the north of the country, following the military road through the landscapes of the Greater Caucasus, towards Gudauri (2,200m), a winter sports resort on the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus mountain range.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will reach the village of Juta (2165 m) through the beautiful gorge of Sno. Authentic village Juta amazes visitors with its ancient way of life preserved to this day. Surrounded by beautiful mountains, Juta is closed across the country for six months. Then we go to Stepantsminda and visit the 14th century Gergeti Trinity Monastery. Perched at an altitude of 2,170m on a promontory, the most spectacular image of the Greater Caucasus. On the way back to Gudauri we visit the beautiful valley of Trusso.

Today we are heading towards the center of the country, towards Gori, the birthplace of Joseph Stalin. Possible to visit the Stalin museum built by the communists in 1957, his own armored train car that Stalin used to travel to conferences in Tehran, Yalta and Potsdam. Continuation the road to one of the oldest Georgian cave cities, to Uplistsikhe (1st millennium BC), "the city of God" with 150 caves and tunnels: an ancient theater, a pharmacy, wine cellars wine, palaces, etc.

In the morning, walk in the center of Kutaisi and visit the local market, one of the richest markets in Georgia. Then we take the road to the monastic complex of Guelati, listed as a UNESCO heritage site. One of the cultural and intellectual centers of Georgia, the seat of an academy uniting several of the most eminent scientists, theologians and philosophers of the country. Then the most interesting part of our trip begins, the road to Svaneti, the highest inhabited land in Europe, a fascinating region with its highest mountains in the northwest of Georgia. We head towards Lentekhi and through the Zagaro pass we arrive at Ushguli. With its four hamlets entirely covered with defensive towers, Uchguli is under the protection of UNESCO. It is a traditional, authentic and incredibly picturesque Svan village. It is from here that we have the most beautiful view of Mount Chkhara (5,068m). Also visit the Lamaria Church of the Virgin.

After breakfast following the Engouri river we go to the foot of the Shkhara mountain (5201m), the highest mountain in Georgia. We will head north to Lake Koruldi at 2,740m above sea level. The rocky slopes of Mount Dalakor with the Mestiatchala valley rise up before us. To the east is Mount Benguriani and a little further Tetnuldi. Then the road to Mestia, sublime with its villages of defensive towers, its high snow-capped peaks and its green valleys. Dinner and night in Mestia.

After fully enjoying the beauty of the Greater Caucasus, we descend to Zugdidi and visit the museum of the Dadiani dukes. Directions to the Black Sea via Shekvetili to visit the dendrologist park. Here more than 200 giant trees of 29 unique species transplanted from different parts of countries have been planted on 18 hectares. On 42 hectares, thousands of different exotic species of trees and plants imported over the years are presented from the five continents of the world. Finally arrived in Batumi, the capital of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, part of Georgia. Installation, dinner at the restaurant and overnight at the hotel in Batumi.

Breakfast at the hotel. Today we take the road to the southwestern region of the country, to Samtskhe-Djavakheti. We follow the Col de Goderdi and the extraordinary road, whose wild landscapes impress us a lot. We pass through Akhaltsikhe, the administrative city of the region and then we arrive in Vardzia. Dinner and overnight in Vardzia.

Visit Vardzia, the richest cave site in Georgia built in the 12th century. This masterpiece is surrounded by a network of fortresses, to be used, at that time, as a point of support in the event of an attack from the south. The city developed on 13 inhabited floors, with the Church of the Assumption. Tunnels and underground passages connected in a rather complex way the various structures of the city. Then departure to Lake Tabatskuri - located in the Samtskhe - Javakheti region, on the border of the municipalities of Borjomi and Akhalkalaki, at an altitude of 1991 meters. In winter it is frozen. The lake is surrounded by the Ktsia-Tabatskuri reserve. The water is fresh and rich in fish, there are also crabs. The place is quite interesting and attractive. The blue lake, wide open spaces and mountains make for a spectacular sight. Passing through the Tskhra-Tskaro pass we pass through Bakuriani and Borjomi and finally we take the road to Tbilisi.
