Highlights
You get a unique opportunity to spend time with an organic farmer and botanist and learn a lot about Gomera's nature, history and climate. Zdenka is enthusiastic about the island, its natural treasures and traditional crafts, and tells a lot about her experiences on the way to sustainable rural life.
At the same time, you will learn to create a recyclable vessel with your own hands. You will notice how happy it is to braid a basket! All this in the beautiful green mountain village!
Itinerary
C. la Laja, 58
During a cca. 45 minute walk you will learn a lot about the Canary Island date palm: botany, traditional use, curiosities. We collect palm brooms and at our workshop location we prepare them to weave baskets the traditional way. Zdenka prepares Canarian snack from her garden. At the end of the day everyone has a self-made, absolutely sustainably produced basket in their hands, and a unique experience from the green heart of La Gomera!
