You must book your JR Pass before traveling to or entering Japan.

It is recommended to book the JR Pass at least 2 weeks before your trip to Japan. The date selected on the calendar is not the date of activation, but the date you intend to leave to Japan.

Valid for non-Japanese passport holders with a tourist visa with Temporary Visitor status.

Please secure a Temporary Visitor Stamp at the immigration when entering Japan to be eligible to use the JR pass.

Do not use the automated gate at the airport as no stamp/sticks will be included in your passport, for more info visit official website.

Japanese passport holders who have been residing outside of Japan for 10+ years are eligible to use a JR pass if they have 1) a valid Japanese passport and 2) a Copy of Overseas Residential Registration/Certificate of Overseas Residence from the Japanese embassy or legation of Japan in your foreign country of residence

Non-Japanese passport holders with permanent residence in Japan is not eligible for this product.

Please include the name as per passport, delivery address, contact number and departure date to Japan to receive the physical Exchange Order upon checkout.

Please enter your details in English upon checkout. You will receive one Exchange Order per person.

A confirmation email and Pelago voucher cannot be used to redeem JR Passes.

You must present your Exchange Order with your passport at any of the JR Pass Offices located in airports and main train stations.

You can only redeem your own JR Pass. You cannot redeem Exchange Orders named under another person.

Exchange Orders are valid only for 90 days from the issued date. Please redeem the physical JR Pass within 90 days from the issued date.

Once exchanged in Japan, you have 30 days to activate your JR Pass and start travelling on the trains.

If you book for over 90 days in advance, the booking will not instantly confirm. You will receive your Exchange Order within 90 days before your planned visit date to Japan.

Child Eligibility:
Children under 12 months old can travel free of charge.
Up to two children (aged 1-5) may travel free of charge when accompanied by an adult rail pass holder given that they do not occupy a seat. A separate child rail pass is required from the third child onwards.

Cancellation fee, reissue fee and other fees are applicable for reissuance of the physical voucher (exchange order).

A 90% refund will be processed if cancelled at least 2 days before date of election. A cancellation fee of 10% will apply.
