출발지:
We travel south from Perth driving through farmland with grazing cattle and
passing by coastal towns. Arriving at Busselton, known as the gateway to the
Margaret River Region we stop for morning tea (own expense) at the iconic
Busselton Jetty, the longest timber jetty in the southern hemisphere. (please
note there is not enough time at this stop to walk the full length of the
jetty).
Driving into the heart of the region, we head to one of Margaret River’s
boutique breweries for lunch (venue may change due to force majeure) with
complimentary beer and cider tastings. Before lunch, we sample some local
wines.
Next it’s on to Mammoth Cave for a guided tour through this gothic cave with
vast chambers that reveal fascinating information on the region’s flora and
fauna. Continuing south, through the Boranup Forest of enormous Karri Trees,
we reach the most fascinating part of the region at Augusta. Here at Cape
Leeuwin Lighthouse, marvel at the dividing point between the Southern and
Indian oceans, a rare phenomenon to view the meetings of the two Oceans.
Then we head north up to the township of Margaret River for a brief stop to
stroll the main street. After a long but fantastic day giving you a full taste
of this wonderful region, it’s back to Perth with an en route comfort stop
arriving at approximately 8:30pm.
Australian Pinnacle Tours
The guide Beck was amazing and everything was very well organised. One piece of constructive criticism : 25 mins at Cape Leuwin Lighthouse from leaving the bus to returning to the bus is too short a time. There is no way elderly people can even walk to and from the lighthouse in that time. Overall it felt a bit rushed but the operator did try to package a lot into one day like a sampler in a sense. Again, all went well and I would recommend it as a highlights tour of the area for sure. Thank you again Beck, you were amazing.
