Highlights
Enjoy winter like a local Finn beyond the arctic circle. Upon completion of safety instructions, snowmobile guide will lead you towards the beautiful lake and forest. During the time, stretch your legs and wake your body up with some snowshoeing action traversing through the virgin forests. Guide will start a fire for the BBQ and preparing some grilled sausages and smoked salmon.
After lunch, it is time to relax and enjoy the peace when you settle down on your favourite fishing spot on the frozen lake. Guide will show step-by-step instructions from drilling your own ice-hole, to using the special tools for thick ice, and some techniques for fishing. Then it is upon yourselves with some patience and luck.
Note: Snowmobile safari, children under 140cm are travelling in the sledge pulled by the guide’s snowmobile. Child over 140cm could seat in the back of the snowmobile as a passenger with full adult payment.
For children too small to wear snowshoes, sleds (toboggans) will be provided.

Enter the polar arctic and enjoy winter in Lapland like a local Finn with a trek into the forest by snowshoes, then the peaceful serenity of ice fishing, and ending by some exciting snowmobile tour beyond the arctic circle. Stretch your legs and wake your body up with some snowshoeing action traversing through the virgin forests. Then relax and enjoy the peace again after you settle down on your favorite fishing spot on the frozen lake. Don’t know how to ice fish? Worry not, your guide will show step-by-step instructions from drilling your own ice-hole, to using the special tools for thick ice, and of course some techniques for fishing. After that, relax and chill as you try your luck fishing while your guide starts a fire for the BBQ. The trick is silence and patience, or to be chill. You may BBQ your catch of the day, or have one of your guide’s sausage and pretend it’s your fish . After lunch, it is time to explore the Arctic Circle by snowmobiles. Exercise, nature, and excitement. Enjoy winter in Lapland! Note: During snowmobile safari, children under 140cm are travelling in the sledge pulled by the guide’s snowmobile.

Duration includes the transfer and clothes changing time. Pick up service is included if the distance from pick up point to Sunny Safari Office is within 8km. Thermal overalls, winter boots, winter gloves, woolen socks, helmets and masks are provided.
During the snowmobile safari, the children from 4 to 14 years old need to traveling in the sledge pulled by the guide’s snowmobile, and we highly recommend that at least one adult to sit with a very young child together for the safety. If a child is over 140cm and wants to sit in the snowmobile as a passenger, a full adult price will be charged (according tothe availability).
Each person who will drive the snowmobile should hold a valid driving license. For the person who doesn’t hold a valid driving license, please contact with Sunny Safari for other solutions.
If two person per snowmobile, passenger and driver could switch during the break of driving. For the group which has an odd number of customers, we highly recommend purchasing a single driving supplement.
Meeting time of our safari is always before the starting time of the safari if you need pick-up services. You will receive your meeting time and meeting point upon confirmation or by e-mail. Failure to participate in the safari due to missed meeting time or meeting point will not be refunded.
Operated in Rovaniemi each year from November 16 to April 12 next year (weather permitting). The minimum number of participants for each safari is 2 full paying adults’ price.
Please let us know in advance when you book the safari if you have special dietary requirements. (Eg: vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.)
Snowmobile drivers are responsible for any damages caused to the vehicle. Please refer to the indemnity clause for details.
