Kyoto Imperial Palace (40 minutes) | Closed on Mondays, Tuesdays if Monday is a national holiday, and Imperial Household event. The Kitano Tenmangu Shrine will be visited instead.

Good to know
Nijo Castle is closed every Tuesdays in January, July, August and December. If closed, Ryoan-Ji Temple will be visited instead.
Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed every public holiday. If closed, Kitano Tenmangu Shrine will be visited instead (beautiful during the plum blossom and autumn leaf seasons).
