Highlights
Central Highlands is the latest addition to the UNESCO World heritage list. This covers the Peak Wilderness sanctuary, Knuckles Conservation Forest and Horton Plains National Park. The region of mountains rising above 2,500 meters above the sea level is considered a super bio diversity hot spot has a remarkable range of flora and fauna providing a habitat for an exceptional range of endemic species. These three Highland destinations are covered during this exciting adventure tour.
Itinerary
Colombo - Hatton
Adam's Peak (Sri pada)
8 hoursAdmission Ticket IncludedYou will be picked up from your hotel in selected cities and driven to Adam’s Peak for an overnight trekking. Check in to one of the hotels in Dalhousie (Nallathanniya) once arrived. Enjoy your dinner and proceed with your guide to start the trek. 21:00: On arrival to Trail Head Your Nature Guide will give you a brief description of the route and start the hike. The ascent is done on foot through the forested mountainside on the steps built into it. Packed Dinner will be taken meanwhile. The greater part of the track leading from the base to the summit consists of thousands of steps built in cement or rough stones yet called “Mahagiridambe” meaning the great boulder or rock.
