The Hong Kong Palace Museum presents over 900 priceless treasures from the Palace Museum. Many of them are on display in Hong Kong for the first time, while others have never been shown to the public before.

Follow in the footsteps of the emperors and empresses of the Forbidden City
and experience court life in the eighteenth century.

Gallery 4: The Hong Kong Jockey Club Ssries: Stories Untold — Figure Paintings Of The Ming Dynasty From The Palace Museum
The paintings in each rotation are thoughtfully divided into groups to
showcase the artistic pursuits and achievements of court painters, literati
painters, and professional painters from the early, middle, and late periods
of the Ming dynasty.
Gallery 5 - The Quest for Originality: Contemporary Design and Traditional Craft in Dialogue
While the term sheji (“design”) was not used in China until the late
nineteenth century, artisans there have been designing and making beautiful
and ingenious objects for millennia.
Gallery 6: Passion for Collecting: Founding Donations to the Hong Kong Palace Museum
In less than two years since we opened, the Museum has received more than
1,100 works. “Passion for Collecting: Founding Donations to the Hong Kong
Palace Museum” showcases nearly 100 objects from our collection. The
exhibition is divided into five sections: metalware, painting and calligraphy,
furniture, religious art and ceramics, dating from the Neolithic period to the
21st century.
Gallery 7: The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Dwelling in Tranquillity—Reinventing Traditional Gardens Reinvents the traditional Chinese garden through a contemporary lens.

Gallery 8 - The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: YUAN MING YUAN—Art and Culture of an Imperial Garden-Palace(20 March 2024 until 12 August 2024)
A major exhibition about Yuanmingyuan imperial gardens. Shedding new light on
Yuanming yuan (Garden of Perfect Brightness), this exhibition features over
190 spectacular paintings, architectural models, and other works associated
with this once-magnificent Qing dynasty imperial garden-palace, which served
as the principal residence of five emperors. Key themes involve the life of
the emperors, festivals, the aesthetic taste of the emperors, and the
relationship between members of the imperial family. In this exhibition
visitors will discover the crowning achievements of imperial garden-palace
design, the stories about the garden’s principal residents, and the history of
the Qing imperial court.
Gallery 9 - The Adorned Body: French Fashion and Jewellery 1770–1910 from the Musée des Arts décoratifs, Paris (26.06.2024 – 14.10.2024)
Opening in June, the first major special exhibition about fashion in France
from the late 18th to the early 20th centuries will showcase over 300 stunning
pieces of men and women’s costume, jewellery, and accessory, illustrating how
fashion transformed the body in France during that period of time. Visitors
will also gain insight into the global connections of French fashion through
the designs and textiles, including Chinese silk.
