Highlights

This new tour in summer 2025 is intended for travelers from Bergen to Oslo. We want to show you the most exciting part of this route by bus.

Our first stop is the Steindalsfossen waterfall, where you can walk behind the cascading water and stay dry.

As we travel along the Hardangerfjord, you'll be captivated by its breathtaking views, charming villages, and lush orchards that bloom vibrantly in spring and summer.

We cross the fjord on one of the longest bridges in the world, soaking in the scenic vistas all around.

Prepare to be amazed by the Vøringfossen waterfall, one of Norway's most spectacular natural wonders, plunging over 180 meters.

Next, we'll ascend the Hardangervidda plateau, which is above the tree line and is home to Europe's largest wild reindeer population, along with stunning landscapes.

Finally, we'll drop you off at Geilo's train station for your onward journey to Oslo by train.

On this bus tour, you'll discover many places not visible from the train.

After picking up the guests from the bus stop P at 08:30 from the central bus station, (See map of the Bus Station in the photo gallery)we set off in the direction of Geilo. The driver will give you some information about Bergen and the villages we will pass. It takes about 1.5 hours to reach the first stop at Steindalsfossen waterfall. If this is too long for you, after about half an hour in Trengereid at the roundabout there is the possibility for a short "emergency stop". Please inform the driver in good time ;-)
  • Steinsdalsfossen Waterfall

    25 minsAdmission Ticket Free
As we approach the Steinsdalsfossen waterfall near Norheimsund, the sound of rushing water fills your ears. The towering falls were formed centuries ago when the river changed course, and its majestic 50 meter height makes it one of the most impressive waterfalls in Norway. A winding path leads you behind the waterfall, where you can marvel at the cascading water from the safety of the rock face. This unique and picturesque spot is a must-see for any traveler. For added convenience, there are public toilets and a tourist information center on-site. And when you need a break, the cozy cafe offers a warm cup of coffee and a selection of souvenirs. But it's not just the waterfall that's worth exploring. The old stone arch bridge is a delightful sight that adds to the character of the area. WE STAY HERE FOR 25 MIN, TRAVEL TIME TO THE NEXT STOP ABOUT 1.45 MIN
  • Oystese(통과)

    Admission Ticket Free
Øystese is a small and beautiful village located in the municipality of Kvam in Vestland county, Norway. It's situated along the Hardangerfjord and is known for its stunning natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere. There's a shopping area, a sandy beach, a marina, and plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy in the area. Unfortunately, we don't have time for a stop on this tour and will therefore only drive through this lovely place. After all, the train in Geilo leaves on time and we don't want to miss it.
  • Hardanger Bridge(통과)

    Admission Ticket Free
We now drive along the Hardangerjord for around 45 minutes, with towering cliffs and shimmering water flanking the road and creating a breathtaking backdrop to our journey. We then reach the 7 km long Vallaviktunel and at its end we arrive at a traffic circle inside the tunnel. Here we turn right and a minute later we find ourselves on the Hardanger Bridge, a 1,380-metre-long and 55-metre-high technical masterpiece, which was the longest bridge in Norway and the tenth longest in the world when it was completed. After crossing the Hardanger Bridge, we enter another short tunnel, which also has a traffic circle inside it. We turn right again and after a few minutes the Hardongerfjord is on our left. There is a viewpoint with public toilets close to the Hartdanger bridge. If the weather and time permit, we will make a short photo stop here. The small town of Eidfjord is only 20 minutes away from here.
  • Eidfjord Municipality(통과)

We'll stop at the parking lot, just a short walk away from the viewing platform. There are also public toilets available. The Fossli Hotel, located nearby, has a cozy cafe that's worth a visit. Outside of the summer months, you can enjoy a cup of coffee by the crackling fireplace. We'll spend about half an hour here, admiring the beauty of the waterfall and the surrounding landscape.
