Please keep your passport with you when using the rail pass, and present it when requested by a JR staff.
It will not be reissued even in case of loss or theft.
The rules for using the rail pass are specified in the JR West's Conditions of Carriage and Japanese laws.
If there is any discrepancy between the foreign language and Japanese terms and conditions, the Japanese terms and conditions take precedence.
2 children (aged 1-5) may travel free of charge when accompanied by an adult rail pass holder given that they do not occupy a seat, but a third child will require a child rail pass.
Children under 12 months old may travel free of charge.
Babies aged under 1 year old can be accompanied for free.

Please go to the green ticket-vending machines and pick up the physical ticket by scanning the QR code of the e-ticket and non-Japanese passport. (Operation menus of the machine can be displayed in Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, or Korean.)
Exchanging reserved seat tickets: before getting on the train, please go to the green ticket-vending machines and pick up physical reserved seat tickets by the area pass.
Reservations of seat can be made at the ticket office through rail staff.

Incredibly smooth redemption. No hassle. Direct to your inbox within half an hour. Just head straight to the ticket counter or green machines at your relevant station to redeem. Clear instructions given in English. 10/10 would recommend. This was my first of two passes that I bought from Pelago.
Easy to redeem and use it in Japan. Highly recommend for those who land in Fukuoka and want to explore Kyoto and Osaka. Remember the shinkansen only arrive Shin-Osaka. You need to get off and change normal JR line to reach Kyoto Station from Shin-Osaka
