Easy Hike to a Natural Ice Cave from Jökulsárlón

We always try to visit the best ice cave available at the time, but the choice may vary throughout the winter. On the way the guide will explain to you how the ice caves are made and what the current conditions are, as well as share local knowledge of the area and glaciers. After reaching the end of the mountain road you will be introduced to the gear used on the tour and from there you will hike for up to half an hour on flat terrain to reach the cave, which is located on the edge of the glacier. On the way there will be plenty of photo opportunities and the guide will explain the impact of the climate change on this glacier. You will then spend up to an hour exploring the ice cave and every interesting part of its surroundings. Your guide will help you to take the best pictures and create everlasting memories of this adventure.

Your guide will be waiting for you at the main carpark of Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon 15 minutes before the start of the tpur. From there you set off for a 45-min ride towards the glacier.
