What to Eat at Haji Lane

Exploring this picturesque hood through a foodie's lens

Bohemian and eclectic - that's Haji Lane, Singapore's quirkiest hangout spot for you. The narrow street is lined with one-of-a-kind cafes, whimsical murals, and lovely boutiques. The food frenzy amid an unending bustle can be overwhelming. But, we've got you covered. Our ultimate list of unmissable Haji Lane spots has delish bites and cool adventures to help you. Are you ready for a mind-blowing journey?

Here's our take on the best food at Haji Lane you need to try:

1. Afterwit Bar de Burrito

A rather less explored gem, this restaurant is a flavour fiesta inside a neon-pink wonderland! The culinary fare takes you straight to Mexico. Whether it's their delish Bahn Mi-inspired taco toppings (pickled veg, sesame cured quail eggs with a choice of meat; SGD16), classic baja tacos (SGD17), or tofu in an authentic marinade (SGD14), this place will leave you wanting more.

Timings: Open daily, 12pm to 10pm

2. Symmetry

This cosy Aussie-inspired all-day dining spot that's been attracting crowds with its menu, is a must-try. Dishes like pork cheek & waffles, eggs with truffle, and their signature Crab Eggs Florentine (SGD 27), make it a popular place for brunches. Their thoughtfully picked music will make you want to stay a little longer.

Timings: Open daily, 11am to 11pm

3. Blanco Court Prawn Mee

Sitting snugly in the vibrant Haji Lane, this restaurant is a unique food adventure. Their legendary dish, prawn noodles, is a bowl of perfection. Succulent prawns topped with delicious noodles, pork lard, fried onions, and a flavour-oozing broth with some punchy chilli padi - it's comfort food at its best!

Timings:Open daily, 7:30am to 4pm

4. Coffee Donkee

Nothing like a strong cuppa (in a rather unusual cup!) made with beans brought straight from Japan, right? You get to experience that and much more here. Coffee Donkee is THE place for a true coffee connoisseur.

Timings: Open daily, 11am to 7pm

5. Piedra Negra

If you're looking for quick, cheap bites, this Mexican gem awaits you with scrumptious tortilla chips, freshly made guacamole, and some potent margaritas. What more does one need anyway?

Timings: 12pm to 12am

6. Pita Bakery

Honestly, is there anything better than a hot, out-of-the-oven pita with hummus, baba ganoush, and tahini dips? That too from an authentic 700-year-old recipe! This one is a no-brainer when looking for things to eat in Haji Lane.

Timings: Open daily, 9am to 9pm

7. Bar Stories

You don't get a menu here. That's right! The bartenders craft a drink for you, and they hit the bull's eye almost always! Brace yourself, because these mixologists are also all about theatrics. They serve cocktails with touches of dry ice and vibrant colour. Needless to add, the concoctions are Instagram stars.

Timings: Tue to Sun, 5:30pm to 11:30pm

8. Goodluck Beerhouse

It's a taproom, dim sum house, and cocktail dive - all mashed into one crazy experience. This is a favourite among craft beer, cocktails and sake enthusiasts alike. To top it all, the snacks they serve are beyond delish too. There's no better place to have a mad night with friends than this.

Timings: Open daily, 12pm to 12am

9. Blu Jaz Cafe
