The Swan View Tunnel, located in John Forrest National Park was built in 1895
and is the earliest tunnel in WA's history. The construction of the railway
line was a major engineering project managed by C Y O'Connor. An incredible
amount of rocks and rubble were moved to construct the embankments, along with
intensive blasting, digging, dynamite and horsepower.
