Experience itself was great we had a fabulous time.
The customer service centre which usually opens at 8.30am opened at 11am on the day.
So by the time we actually redeemed tickets at the service centre- it was 12pm. In Japan it gets dark at just after 4pm so unfortunately we only had less than 3 hours after we caught the train to Mount Takao. This was disappointing.

Very enjoyable. I took the chair lift both ways because it seemed more exhilarating. From the above station, it is about a 40min walk to the peak. Along the way, there are souvenir and food stores, shrines, monkey park (mini-garden within) and the information center at the peak to explore. Near the peak, there's a water "station" to refill your bottles. Don't forget to visit the 599 museum on your way back to the train station. Last note is that this is a very popular hiking place and so there's tons of people on the weekend.
