Good To Know
This product is only available to non-Japanese passport holders with a 'Temporary Visitor' Visa stamp on their passport. Individuals with permanent residency in Japan are not eligible.
To be eligible for a JR Pass, you must receive a Temporary Visitor Stamp at immigration. You cannot use the automated gates, as they will not apply the stamp.
Japanese passport holders who have been residing outside of Japan for over 10 years are eligible to use a JR Pass if they have a valid.
Japanese passport and a Copy of Overseas Residential Registration/Certificate of Overseas Residence from the Japanese embassy or legation in their foreign country of residence.
Please remember that the confirmation email and voucher cannot be used to purchase a JR Pass in Japan. You can redeem your JR Pass when you submit your Exchange Order, to be collected by mail or at pick-up stations.
Before entering Japan, purchase your JR Pass, choose a departure date (the date you want to fly to Japan), and fill out your details. Then, either have your Exchange Order delivered or pick it up yourself.
If you select 'delivery,' the operator will mail the Exchange Order to your address within 7 business days; if you select 'pick up,' please come to the designated pick-up site at the time you specify to receive your Exchange Order.
After receiving your JR Pass, you will have unlimited rides within the validity period.
After entering Japan, go to any of the JR offices situated in airports and major train stations and present your passport to redeem your JR Pass.
Each paying adult can bring a maximum of 2 children, and an additional child ticket is required for each extra child.
Infants under the age of 12 months can travel without charge.
As long as they do not occupy separate seats, each paying adult can bring a maximum of 2 children aged 1-5. However, a child rail pass is required for any additional children.
Children between the ages of 6 and 11 will need to purchase a rail pass.

Cancellation fee, reissue fee and other fees are applicable for reissuance of the physical voucher (exchange order).
Free cancellations are applicable before redemption and expiry of the exchange order.
Redemption Notes
After your booking is confirmed, your exchange order will be shipped and delivered within 14 business days.
Upon arrival in Japan, you can exchange your exchange order and present your passport at any designated location to receive your physical pass.
Please note that Exchange Orders have a validity period of 3 months from the purchase date, so it's important to redeem your JR Pass within this time frame.

We bought the tickets because we saw this part “ Make the most of the included Shinkansen (bullet train) services for swift and efficient travel between cities.” However,JR told us we can’t get Shinkansen from Osaka to Nagoya, then end we have to buy another return tickets for Shinkansen. Such waste money and time!!!
Easy exchange at Nagoya Station, although I was made to join a separate queue to make seat reservations, which took quite long and which I later found out, could be made via the shinkansen ticket machines.
