In the morning (9:00 am) / afternoon (14:00 pm), you will meet your tour guide at the gate of the Yunnan military academy (or your hotel), which was a famous military school in the last century. There your guide will point out characteristics of this elegant yellow building, why it is famous and how it affects China’s history.

From there you will walk to the Green Lake, the center of Kunming city, where local people like to do morning exercise and have fun on weekends. If you are interested in those morning exercises you can even join in them in dancing or singing for a little while, all the while enjoying the beautiful views of the park.

You will then head to Yunnan University and see some less known ancient cultural sites of Kunming city. Walk up the big stairs to Huizeguan, the cradle of modern Chinese history and see the ancient examination residence originally built in 1499.

Finally, you’ll walk to Wenhua Alley through the Gingko street, a place that combines past and present, western and eastern culture, traditional and modern, with many small coffee shops, special bookstores, bars and all kinds of food from all over the world. There we will finish this tour at the end of the street.
