Meet the forest of the Sierra Norte of Oaxaca to reach one of the highest points in Oaxaca (3,200 meters above sea level). La Cumbre Ixtepeji hides a wide biodiversity as well as views that will make you reflect and contemplate the beauty of nature. After 1 hour driving, we gonna get some local breakfast so we get energy for the hiking. We will hike on flat trails, with ups and downs in a loop of 5-23 kilometers for 3-5 hours (It depends on your skills). These trails are moderate for beginners. We will find different types of trees, plants, and mushrooms (by season). When we reach the top, we will rest and on a clear day we will see the Sierra Norte mountains as well as the largest mountain in Mexico, and on cloudy days, we will be around clouds that will make you feel in a totally different environment. On our way back, we will take another downhill trail with humid nature and fun descents that will make you run (optional). When we go down to the cabins, we will rest and continue our way until we reach our vehicle. We will say goodbye to this mountain with local food in a local restaurant, tasting the seasoning of the people of this community so that when we finish… we return to Oaxaca.
