Highlights

Dobruja is an wonderful historic region that boasts fascinating archaeological sites and beautiful landscapes. Winter is an exceptional season for birders and photographers, the perfect place to see a lot of geese, including the famous Red-breasted Goose, Whooper Swans and many raptors.


This winter tour, is a lovely combination of photography and birdwatching. Thousands of geese wintering here, sleeping at night on the lakes and swamps and grazing on day light on fields cultivated with cereals. Please have on you, cameras and binoculars. In case we can't get close enough to the birds for (photo) shooting, we will just enjoy their presence and see them through binoculars or scopes.

Meeting day

  • Tulcea

    2 hoursAdmission Ticket Free
    Arrive in Tulcea any time and check into your hotel. This evening you will be met by a representative for a briefing about your upcoming tour before your first dinner together. If you arrive early, you can use your free time to visit the Fine Arts Museum, Danube Delta Eco-Tourism Museum Center etc.

Searching for Red-breasted Geese

  • Dobrogea Plateau

    10 hoursAdmission Ticket Free
    At 6:00 we will depart on Dobrodgea to search birds, the itinerary will be set based on the most recent infomation from the field. We will observe geese, especially Red Breasted Geese and other winter birds in their feeding, preening or sleeping spots. We will drive around the area in our minibus (8 places)
