The Maid of the Mist boat cruise operates seasonally, usually between May and October (exact dates are subject to ice conditions). It is replaced in the off-season depending on accessibility by views from other observation points such as Gorge Walk, Terrapin Point, or others (access is subject to ice and weather conditions).
When necessary in the spring and summer, ponchos are provided.
New York State law requires that all children be secured in an appropriate child restraint system while traveling in a motor vehicle until they reach the age of 8, and all children under the age of 2 must travel in a rear-facing safety seat. Customers must bring them to ensure the safety of their children. If customers do not provide the appropriate child restraint system, they will not be able to participate in the activity, and we will not be responsible for any refunds.
The tour is great! The guide brief us on what to expect for the trip in both English & Spanish. He also helped to take photo. Flip side is that the journey is extremely long, about 7hrs frm NYC to Nigara Fall and another 7-8hrs back. It is still worth it for the view.
It was a long drive back and forth to Niagara fall so be prepared for the ride. The guide was good however, do take note that entrance to take the boat to see the waterfall might be faced with problem as the ticket can't be recognised. I must say the guide reacted quickly by paying cash for it.
