Are you searching for a fresh and exciting adventure in East Java? A Mount Bromo Sunrise tour with us may be just what you need! It is located approximately 4 hours from Surabaya, the capital of East Java. Mount Bromo is a part of the vast Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park which spans a total area of 800 square kilometers. Despite being comparatively smaller than other volcanoes in Indonesia, Mount Bromo showcases breathtaking views and dramatic landscapes that are sure to impress. Although it stands only at 2,392 meters tall, Mount Bromo's beauty lies in its incredible surroundings.


The fascinating landscape has been the inspiration for numerous myths and legends throughout history. For the Tengger people, Mount Bromo has a special significance as it is believed to be the spot where a brave prince sacrificed himself for his family. Once a year, they hold the Kasada festival to honor the gods by offering vegetables, chickens, and money thrown into the volcano's crater.

Itinerary

  • Surabaya

    4 hoursAdmission Ticket Free
    Pick up from your hotel in Surabaya / Juanda International Airport / Surabaya Train Station at around 11:30pm. Travel 3–4 hours to Bromo area.

  • Mount Bromo

    3 hoursAdmission Ticket Not Included
    Travel 1 hour via a private 4WD jeep to Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Have a light meal at a nearby shop before hiking. Hike for 10–15 minutes to reach the sunrise viewpoint. After the Bromo Sunrise, you will head over to sea of sand by 4WD jeep for a photo opportunity.

  • Mount Bromo

    2 hoursAdmission Ticket Not Included
    Cross the Sea of Sand to reach the rim of Bromo Crater. You can walk 30–45 minutes or ride on a horse (optional, horse-riding fee is not included). Climb 250 flight of stairs for 10–15 minutes to reach the rim of Bromo Crater. Return to Cemoro Lawang at around 8–9am and transfer back to a private car.

  • Madakaripura Waterfall

    3 hoursAdmission Ticket Not Included
    (OPTIONAL) Head to Madakaripura Waterfall to enjoy the magnificent natural sight, the journey is about 1 hour driving. Kindly note that entrance fee for Madakaripura Waterfall is not included. If you would like to visit, the entrance fee for Madakaripura Waterfall is around IDR250,000/person including the local Madakaripura Waterfall tour guide & motorbike ride (about 5 minutes ride). Do note that for the tour guide at Madakaripura Waterfall are not our tour guide. They are the local people there who actually insisted on being guides due to lack of job opportunity there, and we are unable to choose the tour guide because there are queue guide rules by the local authority. Thus, the tour guide might not be able to speak english at all but the tour guide will stay with you in & out the waterfall.

  • Surabaya

    4 hoursAdmission Ticket Free
    Drop off at Airport / Hotel / Train Station in Surabaya by 1pm. If you are going to the waterfall, the drop off time will be at 3 to 4pm.
