Paris Canal
Superb Experience
An early start on a cool autumn morning! It was a relaxing but chilly 2.5-hour canal ride from the River Seine all the way up the canal, passing through many locks. Cruise starts similar to other river cruises going past Île de la Cité then moved into the canal at Bassin de l'Arsenal. Commentary from the guide François in both French and English was informative and entertaining. He talked about the historical background of key landmarks along the way, injected with humor. The boat has an open upper deck and a covered lower deck when it gets chilly. Toilet facilities are available as well. The trip finished at the Parc de la Villette close to two Metro lines, making it easy to travel onwards for the rest of the day.
