Highlights

Understand the rich history of São Paulo and Brazil from a different perspective in the middle of the Atlantic Forest, with the contemplation of historical monuments and unforgettable views of valleys and coastal area through a set of hills.


The Serra do Mar State Park is about 50 kms from São Paulo downtown accessible by car in about 1 h. This astonishing mount range extends along the south and southeast coast of Brasil providing us with breathtaking views.


The walk has total length of 9 kms and lasts about 5 hours, round trip, taking place on a paved old winding road with a light level of difficulty, in the middle of the Atlantic Forest.


On clear days, visitors have a view of the coast and a set of cities including the first Portuguese settlement in Brasil, the city of Saint Vincent.


The place is home to a precious environmental heritage of great scenic beauty, in addition to a historical-cultural collection that marks periods of development of the state of São Paulo.

    • Explore an area declared by UNESCO an Atlantic Forest Biosphere Reserve. • Observe springs, waterfalls and water courses all along the walk. • Get to understand an early part of the history of Brazil that culminated in the proclamation of independence from Portugal. • Admire the great exuberant of the Atlantic Forest & historical wealth in the constructions and monuments that tells the history of São Paulo and Brazil. • Spot highways cutting through the massive mount range considered engineering breakthroughs. • Get breathtaking views of valleys and coastal area through a set of hills. • Spot animals along the walk as well as native plants. • Make the most of a day with a local guide to escort you all around.
