Our journey begins in the bustling city of Antananarivo, where we will embark on a scenic drive through National Road 7 and N°34 to the captivating town of Miandrivazo. Arriving at Miandrivazo village, you can relax and unwind at a comfortable hotel after a long-distance drive.
The following day, we will transfer by car to a small village where your private canoe boat awaits, ready to start our thrilling river descent along the Tsiribihina River. Experience the beauty of the countryside, far away from civilization, as you immerse yourself in the local culture and cuisine prepared by your knowledgeable tour guide. Marvel at the breathtaking landscapes and natural pools where you might even spot various species of lemurs.
Our adventure continues as we arrive at Antsraraka village and then take a private car to visit Kirindy forest for a day. Afterward, we head out to the famous Baobab Avenue before reaching our final destination, Morondava.
Itinerary
Embark on a scenic drive from Antananarivo, taking in the breathtaking highland landscapes and passing by traditional red clay houses. Our first stop is the town of Antsirabe, known for its abundant salt and thermal springs. Explore the town, renowned as the capital of rickshaws. Afterward, continue our journey to Miandrivazo, arriving in the late afternoon. Rest and relax at the Soa Dia Hotel for the night.
Day 2: MIANDRIVAZO VILLAGE - TSIRIBIHINA RIVER DESCENTE
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before a one-hour transfer by car to Masiankapy village, where our boat awaits. Embark on an exciting river trip along the breathtaking Tsiribihina River, accompanied by a local pirogue and boatman. Immerse yourself in nature's beauty and observe the diverse birdlife. Along the way, meet friendly locals and savor a delicious lunch prepared by our local guide. As dusk falls, set up camp on the riverbank and enjoy dinner under a star-filled sky with the gentle glow of a campfire.
Day 3: GORGE OF TSIRIBIHINA RIVER, ANOSINAMPELA, BEGIDRO VILLAGE
After breakfast, continue our cruise through the stunning gorge of the Tsiribihina. Keep an eye out for lemurs, chameleons, and various bird species. Enjoy a riverside lunch prepared by our guide. Take a walk to a beautiful waterfall and natural swimming pool, where you can cool off and enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings. As the day draws to a close, savor another delightful dinner prepared by our guide, followed by a peaceful night's camping near a local village.
Day 4: BEGIDRO VILLAGE - ANTSERARAKA VILLAGE
Breakfast on the river bank; we resume our cruise, passing through a cliff inhabited by bats and owls. Enjoy a scenic drive in a zebu cart for one hour to reach Antsiraraky Village. Spend the night at a basic hotel (included).
Day 5: ANTSERARAKA - BAOBABA AVENUE - MORONDAVA TOWN
In the morning, a 4x4 vehicle will pick you up and drive you to Tsimafana.
Visit the Kirindy Forest, home to lemurs, chameleons, tenrecs, and the elusive fossa, a lemur predator. After exploring Kirindy Reserve, continue our journey to Morondava, stopping along the way to admire the sacred baobab trees, the baobab in love, and Sakalava's tomb. Witness the breathtaking sunset at the iconic Baobab Avenue, capturing unforgettable photos.
