    After breakfast, we will drive to the city of Kharkhorin. Kharkhorin, the former capital of Chinggis Khan, was founded in 1220 in the Orkhon valley, the center of the empire for more than 140 years, destroyed in 1391 by Chinese troops. It is the first Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. Upon arrival, check in at Ger Camp and visit Erdenezuu Monastery and Kharkhorin Museum in the afternoon.

Kharkhorin - Orkhon Waterfall

    On the way to the Orkhon Waterfall. Orkhon Waterfall, also called Ulaan Tsutgalan, is one of the most beautiful sights in central Mongolia. About 25m downstream from the waterfall, you can descend to the bottom of the gorge; 22m deep and dotted with pine trees. About 20,000 years ago, the waterfall formed as a result of an earthquake and merged as a result of volcanic eruptions. The Orkhon River Valley is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has been protected since 2006 as a national park. Along the way there will be visiting nomadic families to experience their nomadic way of life and then setting up camp early.

Orkhon Waterfall - Lake of Eight

    You enjoy for 2 days, at a more leisurely pace, the famous valley and the Orkhon waterfall. We will start our first day of trekking early in the morning after a sumptuous breakfast. During the day we will do about 18 km on horseback. First, we will continue riding through an area of dense forests where many wild berries grow and we will reach Lake Shireet. The region of Naiman Nuur, "Eight Lakes", has formed behind the volcanic eruptions that have occurred throughout the centuries. The park is 2400 meters above sea level. Inside the national park we can observe 50 species of birds, such as the black-throated loon, the great cormorant, the bar-headed goose or whooper swan. After a picnic lunch between the lakes, we continue our trek to Lake Khuis (Navel) after crossing several streams. Overnight with a nomadic family.

Lake of Eight - The Orkhon Valley / Tuvkhun Monastery

    After a relaxing morning, we will ride horseback to the mountain called Shiveet Ulaan where the beautiful Tuvkhun Monastery is located. Tuvkhun Monastery is one of the oldest Buddhist monasteries in Mongolia and is located in the center of the country. Tuvkhun Monastery is perched 2400m above the Orkhon Valley. It brings together several small temples, the oldest of which was built in 1654 for Zanabazar, who was the first spiritual leader of Buddhists in Mongolia. The view from the top stretches for tens of kilometres, beyond the mountain ranges that surround the Orkhon valley, sometimes in long undulating waves, covered with dark forests, sometimes carpeted with green meadows.

The Orkhon Valley - Tsenher Hot Springs

    Arrival at the hot springs of Tsenkher in the afternoon. The Arkhangai is a region rich in ancient volcanoes, which explains the presence of this hot spring at 85.5°C which flows throughout the year at 1860 meters above sea level in the sum of Tsenkher. In a pleasant green and wooded valley, yurt camps with facilities and baths at an acceptable temperature have been set up for travelers, is very famous for its healing effects. Well appreciated bathing in the hot springs after 2 days of riding, and relaxation.

Tsenher Hot Springs - Lake Ogii

    Continuing after, you will come to the freshwater Lake Ogii, which attracts anglers and bird watchers from all over. Lake Ogii is part of the RAMSAR conventions (areas including wetlands of great importance for their richness in avifauna). Observation of many scenes of nomadic life. Along your route in the middle of infinite steppes, you will be able to meet nomadic families who will welcome you. On arrival, you can take a walk around the lake and watch the birds that migrated to the area in late April and call it home - cranes and ducks, to name but a few species. Swan goose, Eurasian spoonbill and Dalmatian pelican have already been observed there!

Ogii lake - Elsen tasarkhai sand dune

    After breakfast drive to Elsen Tasarkhai. It is known as a mini-dune due to its Gobi-like appearance. The sand dunes have a total length of 80 km. Camel ride in the amazing sand dunes of "Little Gobi", erected in the middle of the plains. Passage to the Khugnu Khan Nature Reserve. The Khugnu Khan mountain, considered sacred since the time of the Turks, has very beautiful massive stone formations. Lunch at the camp next to the sand dune and visit the temple of Ovgon in the afternoon. Experience the lifestyle of a nomadic family in a traditional Mongolian yurt and enjoy a spectacular sunset over the golden sand dunes while riding a camel, walking on the sand dunes and relaxing in a nature beautifully serene.

Apart from the fact that the Takhi, as the Mongols call them, once again roam freely in their homeland, the park and its surroundings have much to offer lovers of nature and culture in our beautiful country, located in the heart of the 'Asia. The PNH is unique in that it is the only national park managed by NGOs and financed by its revenues, and that it does not receive any state subsidies. Within the park, 55 mammals, 223 birds, 2 amphibians, 4 reptiles, 15 fish and more than 500 species of insects have been recorded. Many of them are mentioned in the red list.

In the evening, you will indulge in Mongolian culture with a folkloric show, a concert of traditional music and contortion. You'll hear performances with the traditional Mongolian instrument Morin Khuur, a two-stringed violin adorned with a carved horse's head; harmonic chanting, once used only by shamans to communicate with spirits.
