It is a beautiful structure constructed from grey and white sandstones and has elaborate carvings to display. • Badal Mahal Gate

Badal Mahal Darwaza is basically a singular structure of a gate that doesn’t lead to any palace or mahal. This historic gate enjoys a central location in Chanderi, near the Jama Masjid. This imposing gate was constructed by Sultan Mehmood Shah Khilji, the King of Malwa, in the 15th century.
  • Koshak Mahal

    30 minsAdmission Ticket Not Included
Located on the Isagarh road at a distance of 4 kilometres from the historic town Chanderi, Koshak Mahal was built in 1445 by Sultan of Malwa, Mehmood Shah Khilji, to commemorate his victory over Sultan Mehmood Sharki in the battle at Kalpi. As suggested by its original name, Kushk-e-Haft Manzil or ‘the edifice with seven-storeys’, it is believed that Koshak Mahal was initially conceptualized for having seven storeys, but the mahal presently has only three storeys and a part of the fourth. Some sources claim that the upper storeys have collapsed with time, while others believe that the project was never finished. According to a widely believed legend, the real reason behind the construction Koshak Mahal was to provide employment to the people of Chanderi as there were facing an acute shortage of work during that time.
