Itinerary

  • Start of Tour (6:45PM)

Gather at the Main Entrance under the majestic Waharoa (gateway), where your guide awaits.
  • Introduction

Following a brief kōrero (talk), you'll be led to Te Heketanga-ā-Rangi, a Māori masterpiece of intricate carvings and architectural design.
  • The Heart of Te Puia

Guided by torchlight, venture into Te Puia's heart to explore the valley's landmarks, listen to the echoing stories of ancient Māori myths, and witness carvings that whisper tales of generations past. Amidst this journey, you might even catch the elusive call of our Native Kiwi.
  • Ngāraratuatara

Descend a rarely trodden path to gather by Ngāraratuatara, a simmering cooking pool where a traditional Māori dessert is shared. Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of newborn mud pools and the symphony of native wildlife echoing through Te Whakarewarewa Geothermal Valley.
  • End of Tour (9 PM)

Board a waka (vehicle) for the final leg of the adventure. The majestic Pōhutu, the southern hemisphere's largest geyser, stands as a testament to the enchanting connection between your spirit (wairua) and the allure of papatūānuku (Mother Earth).
