【Kawachi Fuji Garden】
Since it was named one of the "31 Most Beautiful Spots in Japan" by CNN in the
United States in 2017, the flower season every year (late April and early May)
has attracted tourists.
Kawachi Fuji Garden is located in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, covers
an area of approximately 9,900 square meters and was first opened to
tourists in 1977.
There are a total of 22 kinds of wisteria flowers in the park, mainly in
purple, pink and white. The most popular ones are the two wisteria flower
tunnels of about 110 meters and 80 meters.
The greenhouse is about 3,600 square meters. The rattan tree in the center was
transplanted from Hanoi Village and is said to be 130 years old.
Kawachi Fuji Garden is a private garden that was carefully maintained by Masao
Higuchi and his family for more than 50 years to create its current beauty.
It is now managed by his descendants, and has become a representative tourist
attraction in Kyushu.
【Kokura Castle】
This famous castle was built in 1602 by Lord Hosokawa Tadaoki.
There are many places worth seeing in the castle, including a corner where you
can learn about the history and culture of Kokura Castle and an observation

On time..
Our guide, May, was good. Just a feedback - to please ensure to look out for the elderly who cannot walk so fast. As the places are very crowded, we couldn't really keep up with her and had to try our best to not lose sight of her in the crowds. All 3 places we visited were interesting, but we would have preferred more time at Kokura Castle. Not enough time to explore the grounds and the interesting stalls around it.
