–Spot Introduction–

  • Otaru Tenguyama

The view from Otaru Tenguyama has been recognized as one of Hokkaido's three
best night views, alongside the ones from Mt. Hakodate and Sapporo's Mt.
Moiwa. Awarded one star by the Michelin Green Guide Japan, this mountain will
let you see the beautiful Otaru night scene below. The Otaru Tenguyama Ropeway
has a capacity of 30 people and it takes about 4 minutes to travel the whole
735m distance between the foot and the summit of the mountain, with a gondola
departing every 12 minutes. Take a trip in the air as the streets of Otaru and
the Sea of Japan spread before your eyes. Get off at the summit and get
charged with spiritual energy at Tenguyama Shrine, ride a sled through a 400m
course on the grass on the Tenguyama Slide, and enjoy many more activities.
