We then return to Dubai and go on a hot-air balloon ride over the ‘Palm’. This consists of three artificial islands: Palm Jumeirah, Deira Islands and Palm Jebel Ali. Construction began in 2001 and ended around 2007.

We start with visiting five different souks (a.k.a. bazaars): Gold Souk, then the Perfume Souk, then the Spice Souk, then the Bur Dubai Souk and finally Souk Madinat. Outside Souk Madinat, we go on a boat ride. The surrounding buildings are quite charming. We then head to Dubai Mall so we can check out its impressive and large aquarium. We then walk outside the mall to enjoy the light show as well as what is essentially Dubai’s central/downtown area. Lasty, we ascend to what is the world’s largest skyscraper, Burj Khalifa. The views from above are marvelous.
