During summer months in rare cases of inclement weather or strikes, the crater of Vesuvius may be closed to visitors, therefore, if this is the case, it is replaced with a visit to Positano where you will get free time to explore the city.
From early November to March, except during the Christmas period (26/12/24 to 02/01/25), the Vesuvius isn't accessible and it is replaced with a visit to Positano where you will get free time to explore the city. Please notice that the Lunch stop will not be included when going to Positano.

The hike up to the crater of Vesuvius requires a good level of general fitness. The walk is uphill at a 14 degree angle and takes roughly 20 minutes.
