A dragon stone is said to have fallen from the sky in 1420, Roman governor Pontius Pilate is buried in Lake Pilatus, and a petrified man stands guard outside a cave. The Pilate massif, which dominates the whole region from its height of 2128 meters, undoubtedly stimulates the imagination.
