Itinerary

  • Start of Tour (7:30AM or 7:40AM or 7:50AM)

Assemble at Makishi Station-mae bus stop (Tsuboya Elementary School side) / 牧志駅前バス停(壺屋小学校側), Okinawa People's Square (in front of the Prefectural Office) (県庁前県民広場) or Loisir Hotel Naha (main building).
  • Sefa Utaki, a World Cultural Heritage Site (9:00AM)

Said to have been created by Amamikiyo, the goddess who created the Ryukyu Islands, Sefa Utaki is the most sacred site in the Ryukyu Kingdom and is believed to be one of the seven utaki (sacred sites) where the country originated. The inauguration ceremony of Kikoe-ogimi, the supreme goddess of Ryukyu, was held at Sefa Utaki. It is in the mountains, so you can also experience Okinawa's nature when you go there. In December 2000, it was registered as a World Heritage Site.
  • Valley of Gangala (10:40AM)

A place that feels like another world in which time flows differently, the Valley of Gangala is a subtropical forest rich in nature that was created by the collapse of a limestone cave hundreds of thousands of years ago. There is a high possibility that the Minatogawa Man lived here approximately 18,000 years ago and excavations in the area are still being conducted today. You can experience the area while ruminating about 'nature' and 'life'. The valley is about 14,500 tsubo (47,933 square meters) wide, with a walking distance of 1km. It is a vast, old world that you won't completely understand until you set foot in it.
  • End of Tour

Drop off at Naha Airport or Okinawa People's Square (in front of the Prefectural Office)
