The Trümmelbach alone drains the huge glacier walls of the Eiger (3970m), Mönch (4099m) and Jungfrau (4158m) with up to 20,000 liters of water per second from its catchment area of 24 square kilometers, half of which is covered with snow and ice. The Jungfrau-Aletsch region has been declared a World Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO.
