The ancient Kingdom of Bujang Valley had many names. In the 2nd century A.D Indians called it Kalagam or Kadaram. To the Arab traders in the 4th century A.D, they called it Qalha or Kalah. Chinese travelers I-Tsing who visited in the 7th century A.D named it Chieh-Cha. In ancient Sanskit it was known as Katahanagara and in ancient Malay literature, it was known as Langkasuka.
