Highlights
Head out from Alice Springs before the break of dawn to a desert launch site where you'll hop on a hot air balloon flight to watch the sunrise over the vast remoteness of the Australian Outback. Starting from the south of Alice Springs, float over the historic Owen Springs station adjacent to the MacDonnell Ranges. Spot wildlife, particularly big red kangaroos as the balloon cruises over spinifex grasses, mulga scrub and cattle stations.
On land, try your hand at packing up a balloon with the crew, or take the opportunity to snap some great photos of the scenic desert. Return transfers are available from most Alice Springs accomodation options. If you are not staying in hotel accommodation, we will ask you to meet us at a central meeting location. This will be Crowne Plaza Lasseters (93 Barrett Drive, Alice Springs, NT 0870). Private address or rural locations are unlikely to be possible.
Passengers must be generally fit enough to climb up and into the balloon basket unaided and stand for the duration of the flight - Any form of reduced mobility or disablement must be discussed with Outback Ballooning prior to making a booking. Each person is treated as a separate case.
Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) rules and regulations and Outback Ballooning’s policy prevent us from flying women who are over 12 weeks pregnant.
Provider is unlikely to be operating if the weather is wet - csutomers will be offered an alternative date.
