We recently dined at Madame Brasserie at the Eiffel Tower and were enchanted by the stunning views and sophisticated ambience. The location and atmosphere truly set the stage for a memorable evening, and the charm of dining in such an iconic setting cannot be overstated. However, the experience was slightly marred by an aspect of the service that felt unnecessary and intrusive. Upon our arrival, a photo was taken of us at the entrance, which we assumed was a welcome gesture. Later, during the middle of our dinner service, another photo was taken at our table. While this seemed like a nice touch initially, we were later asked if we wanted the photos printed—at an additional cost. Given the premium price of the meal, this approach felt out of place and left us with a sour taste. Such gestures, if offered at all, should be included as part of the overall experience rather than an upsell. While we appreciated the food, the ambience, and the privilege of dining in such a remarkable location, this element detracted from the overall experience. Including these photos as a complimentary keepsake would have been far more in line with the exclusivity and prestige associated with Madame Brasserie.
